Budo without the BS
The martial arts world is so different than it was 35 years ago when I began. And I do not believe that is a good thing. It has gone from being a journey of the self, the art of self defense to arena's featuring barbarianism disguised as competition. it is a my way is better then your way. Egos, steroids and pretending.
We need to get back to what matters. Back to the values of old and the true meaning of Budo in a post modern world. The ancient teaching of the martial arts have survived the centuries because of the values that were instilled from master to student. And it was this that made martial arts teachings and styles timeless.
What values do I speak? They begin as follows:
- God
- Family
- Country
To the most in the west God is dead, family is disposable and country makes you a racist. But those ideals are WRONG and why society fails today.
Body - Mind -Spirit
The warrior is a man or woman of principles. These principles are:
- Integrity
- Courtesy
- Self Control
- Perseverance
- Indomitable Spirit
All but lost today to most who study. In my new book releasing on New Years Day 2020 I am going to explain based on my 35 years in the martial arts world how we get back to the ways of old. When training was designed to unit Body-Mind-Spirit to become one, build strength and character, and a desire to help others do the same.

What will this book offer? This book will be based on 35 years of uninterrupted martial arts training. Ten years of in-depth study of Buddhism, 5 years of training with a Korean Chi master and a search for truth with deep research into Christianity, Islam, Taoist and Hinduism.
I will cover history, and how the past can be used to help the modern martial artist walk the path of the masters of old. And the book is based on personal life experiences, failures and success which is why the title states "NO BS."
